The full guide: importing cut lists, steps and exports
- PartsEnter the cut list or paste it straight from Excel: length, quantity, cutting face, material, label and angles.
- OffcutsImport or add the offcuts in stock. The program analyses them and uses them before new bars.
- New stockSet the lengths and quantities of new bars available for each material.
- Cutting planThe plan is calculated automatically. You can adjust it by dragging parts between bars, and lengths are checked automatically.
- Materials reportSee the new bars, the offcuts used and the new offcuts over 1,000 mm, which you give stock codes.
- ExportsDownload the plan in Excel or CSV, print the operator job sheets or open the workshop app on a phone or tablet.
- Consumption reportAnalyse consumption in millimetres and kilograms, yield, number of cuts and blade wear.

Frequently asked questions
How does it save material?
The program finds the combination of parts with the least waste on every bar, uses stock offcuts first and nests mitred parts: it rotates and flips them so the angled cut of one part is also the cut of the next. How much you save depends on your cut list.
Can I use offcuts from the workshop?
Yes. At the Offcuts step you import them or add them manually, and the program uses them before new bars. New offcuts over 1,000 mm get codes so you can find them in stock.
Does it work with my machine?
The program exports the plan to Excel and CSV, formats most programs and machines can read, and prints sheets for any saw, band or circular. For a special format required by your machine, the Factory plan includes a custom export.
Can I try the full version for free?
Yes. Every new account gets 3 days of full Steel Cut Pro, with no limits and no card. After the trial you choose the Workshop, Production or Factory plan.
Is my work saved?
The project is saved automatically in the browser. In PRO you can export it as a file and open it on another computer.
